Is it ok to feed my dog sweet potatoes?

My one year old sheltie has colitis and takes a daily dose of tylan powder. She doesn’t care for wet dog food, so I’m trying to find ways to get the powder in her. Canned pumpkin has worked so far, but I really have to coax her to eat it. She likes sweet stuff, so I thought I would try canned sweet potatoes. I’m only giving her about a tablespoon at a time - just enough to mix in the powder. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
