My boyfriend has Crohns, so I can answer some of your questions.
~ You could possibly still develop Crohns, it usually shows up in the late teens and early 20s
~Crohns is likely to be genetic, as it can pass down in families (my boyfriend’s dad and ompa both have it), so you can pass it, even if you don’t have it
~I don’t know of any diseases that are direcly connected to having Crohns, but my boyfriend has to get vitamin shots because his food passes so quickly through his system that he doesn’t absorb it. Also, he is on prednisone, a steroid which is very degenerative to veins and bones.

Hi, i hope i can help….i found out i had colitis when i was 23 years old. I am now 28. My first cousin has chrons and another first cousin has colitis and chrons. Now, i have siblings and they are not effected and i don’t think it is likely seeing they are well into their mid-20’s. My Grandfather had colitis so we do know it’s genetic but in my personal experience it seems to jump a generation in my family. My mother and her siblings were uneffected but their children were. This might mean that my children won’t be, but my grandchildren will. Confusing…..!!! I’m not a medical expert, but i do know that chrons does not run in my family and 2 family members have it now. I think there is a corrilation between chrons and colitis…..I hope this helped…a little : )

well i found out that i had chron’s disease when i was 16. My case isnt too severe but its still a pain. Neither one of my parents has digestive problems but my grandma does. its definately genetic but that doesnt mean you have it or that you will pass it on.
