The general YouTube word has compelled me to make my own train-of-thought video. Feel free to watch my video and share your comments (“Conquering ulcerative colitis WITHOUT SURGERY : Prologue”).

I succumbed to severe ulcerative colitis actually six years ago (not 5 as previously mentioned). I say succumbed because it sure felt like I was dead. But with careful studying of my diet, temporary correction, rotating, and the eventual health of a naturopath, I ended up HEALTHIER than I had ever been before! I was thinking of posting a video to YouTube, and after seeing everyone talk about J-pouches, Asacol and invasive surgeries, I’m convinced more than ever I have to make a video. HEALTHY!

I have a severe case of the disease and It has not ruined my life. I think you just need to think positively and not let it defeat you. There are worse things that could be affecting you other than your UC.

What you are feeling is perfectly normal. However, you must understand that having anal sex while you have Ulcerative Colitis is suicide for your health. Using lots of lube and taking it slow can only go so far. Your UC condition will get worse if you keep having anal sex. Don’t do it. Concentrate on other parts of your body for sexual pleasure.

I understand that but I make sure to use a lot of lubrication and keep it slow. I wish there was a way to get around having anal for sexual pleasure but to be frank I don’t have a vagina so its either my anus or my mouth. I hope there is some advice that you could offer me that wouldn’t discourage me from having anal sex.

Anal sex in highly not recommended for patients with UC. The anus is not meant for sex in general. The lower end of the colon/rectum most likely is inflamed so engage in anal sex would only cause more harm to the inflamed area and problems with bowel movements.

Should people with UC not engage in anal sex? I am asking because I’ve engaged in anal sex a few times and its very painful and I’m not sure if it is due to my colitis or not. I am not sure if the rectum and intestine shrink do to UC or whatnot but would love to know more.

This interview is somewhat sloppy, but all their information is correct. However, I was under the impression that UC was a college-age diagnosis, not primarily pediatric…it’s usually much more severe if diagnosed in childhood.
