Hi Claude, I have zero regrets about my J-pouch. I recommend the surgery to many people, but with some conditions. First, it’s not without risks or possible complications, so you’ll want to take that into consideration. Second, to get a J-pouch working fully takes several months, up to a year, so you need to have patience. Finally, while I find it easier to deal with than an ileostomy, having a J-pouch does not replace your missing colon. The two aren’t the same thing.
